The Swedish National Agency for Special Needs Education and Schools runs Åsbackaskolan on behalf of the State, providing education from pre-school class to year 10. The school is in Örebro and accepts pupils from all over the country.
At Åsbackaskolan, we offer pupils who are deaf or hard of hearing combined with learning disabilities and pupils with deafblindness that is congenital or was acquired at an early age education adapted according to each pupil’s situation and needs. Education is based on the curriculum for compulsory special needs schools and course syllabuses for compulsory school for children with learning disabilities, which also includes compulsory school for children with severe learning diffculties.
